What do we do at Vitalica Wellness for Adhd Syndrome, which has become almost ubiquitous in recent months and even in the last year?

What is Adhd?
Adhd syndrome, short for Attention-deficit and hyperactivity disorder, is a neurodevelopmental disorder that begins in childhood and usually continues throughout life due to abnormal conditions in the functioning of chemical substances in the brain. Adhd syndrome, also known as ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder) syndrome in Turkish, may show its first symptoms with inability to sustain attention, hyperactivity and impulsive behaviors. This can negatively affect the individual's social, academic and professional life.

Why Does Adhd Occur?

Although the exact cause of Adhd is not known, it is thought to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors.    Individuals with a family history of Adhd are more likely to have the disorder. In addition, environmental factors such as complications during childbirth, low birth weight, and alcohol or smoking during pregnancy may also contribute to the occurrence and development of Adhd. Adhd, which we know to have a direct relationship with brain development and the nervous system, also causes negative neurodevelopmental consequences when combined with mental problems that can occur with stress.

We can summarize the symptoms of Adhd under three main headings.

  • 1.Lack of Attention:
    • Not paying attention to details, being careless and making mistakes in school, homework or work.
    • The desire to avoid tasks that require attention and focus for long periods of time and getting bored quickly.
    • Difficulty following simple instructions, having difficulty completing a task or project that has been started, and often not even completing it.

  • 2.Hyperactivity:
    • The constant need to move.
    • The desire to stand up in places where he/she should sit or to constantly move his/her hands and feet
    • Inability to keep quiet or engage in activities in a calm manner.
  • 3.Impulsivity:
    • Answering a question before it is completed, interrupting others.
    • Not wanting to stand in line anywhere, not being able to wait in line.
    • Taking other people's belongings without permission or interfering with their work.
    • Being impatient, not being able to control their impatience, being in a hurry.
    • Speaking a lot and fast
    • Sudden outbursts of anger and inability to control their anger
    • Inability to listen to the other person

The treatment of Adhd can be possible with more than one method. We share the treatment methods under four headings below.

  • 1.Medication:
    • Central nervous system stimulants (stimulants) are commonly used to control and treat Adhd symptoms. These drugs increase attention span and reduce hyperactivity.
Non-stimulant medications may also be preferred in some cases with a doctor's recommendation.
  • 2. Behavior Therapy:
    • These are therapy methods aimed at changing the behavior of individuals. While this treatment method is more effective especially in children and adolescents, of course, effective results are obtained in regular therapies for adults.
Family trainings, individual therapy and group therapies can be supportive in this process.
  • 3.Educational Supports:
    • Individual education plans (IEP) and special education services in the school environment can help children with ADHD improve their academic achievement.
5
  • 4.Behavior Therapy:
    • Adopting a healthy lifestyle helps to control and reduce ADHD symptoms. Adopting a lifestyle that includes regular sports, a healthy sleep pattern, a healthy diet, mindfulness practices that are effective in stress management, meditation and regular yoga practices are effective methods to treat ADHD symptoms without medication.

Vitalica Wellness offers its guests the most important processes in obtaining effective results in the 4th treatment method.
